Annual Dinner & Awards 2014
The Annual Newmarket Cycling and Triathlon Club Awards on 24th January was an opportunity for members old and new to get together and celebrate the continued success of our local club.
The night began with a sit down meal at the Rosery Hotel, Exning. Following on, Dave Peck (President) gave a short but substantial speech on snippets of history for the Club, celebrating some long standing members and their accolades of years gone by.
Steve Peck (Chairman) took to the table of trophies to begin the awards before moving on to a club raffle and auction to raise money for Sebs Legs. Seb is the son of James and Lorna Brokenshire-Dyke who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy spastic diplegia at 15 months old. The couple are aiming to raise £70,000 for an operation for Seb so that he can move his legs more freely. The Club raised £192 with the raffle of various prizes donated by club members and then a further £50 auctioning off a 1980′s Newmarket CC Racing Jersey. The club have also donated their London Marathon spot in support of the pair running the Marathon three-legged! www.justgiving.com/ThreeLeggedMarathon/
