NCTC Runners flying at Newmarket Heath Run

NCTC members smashed it at the Heath Run on the 4th May with a 2nd in the women’s race with Gra Nry in an impressive time of 21.28 and Gordon Irvine finishing in 5th place in a great time of 19.24 in the men’s event. A massive well done also to Eliot Bentley (22.26), Gemma Irvine (23.45), Sarah Osborne (24.15), Tim Wilson (25.05), Daniel Tee (25.52), Sara Brown (32.12), Colin Warn (32.38) and Ian Storey (29.36) and who all ran under the NCTC banner! #didusproud

Kerry and Tracy Impressive in Tour of Yorkshire Sportive

Tracy Husband and Kerry Brown took on the very challenging Tour of Yorkshire sportive and passed with flying colours, both completing the course that measured out at 64miles with 7500ft of climbing!! Very impressive effort ladies, in what has become an annual pilgrimage for both of them!!

Rob Smashes Mallorca 312km

Rob Speers, who is one of our very best cyclists, successfully completed the brutal Mallorca 312km in very impressive fashion. Rob completed the 193.7 mile course with 16,700ft of climbing in a jaw dropping 17.8mph average speed. Many congratulations Rob, but can you share the power around please!!

Paul and Jordan Compete in Ixworth Velo Races

Congratulations to members Paul Dennison and Jordan Black who both put in fine efforts in the Velo UK Ixworth Cycle races over the bank holiday weekend. This was Jordan’s first road race and he performed with great credit and enjoyed the experience. Jordan has been putting together some excellent TT times this year and we’ll all be following his progress throughout . This is Paul’s first full year of racing and he has put together a good calendar of events he will be competing in over the coming months. The trouble for the rest of us who follow Paul on the club rides is he keeps getting faster!!!

First Block of Junior Cycling Coaching Completed

Our first block of Junior Cycling with British Cycling coach Nick High has just been completed and had been a big success. Over the last ten weeks the juniors have displayed an impressive cycling skill set and all have improved greatly over this time. We are now in the process of putting together the next block of coaching and will keep the website updated with full details when they become available.

Woodbridge XC

Club members were out in force for the 4.7 mile sandy and undulating XC course at Woodbridge. First home for the club and 9th overall was Gordon Irvine,Peter Williams 66th,Eliot Bentley 138th,Parris Williams 157th,Gemma Irvine 171st,Andrew Griffiths 186th,Jane Paterson-Todd 218th,Mike Haslam 232nd,Peter Cotton 314th,Linda Hones 366th.

British Triathlon Hall of Fame

NCTC member Eugene Husband finished off a memorable year to finish 2nd male vet in British Triathlons Hall of Fame league results with an accumulation of points from triathlons that he had raced in through the year.
