Club Prizes

Club Prize Winners 2010

Every year, trophies are awarded to club members. Below is a breakdown of how these trophies are awarded:

1. Time Trials

We have Trophies for each of the following distances:- 25, 30, 50 & 100 miles and 12hour.
Times / distances are your best single result at each relevant distance recorded at CTT (Cycling Time Trial) events.
There are also 2 ‘BAR’ (Best All Rounder) Trophies

Short Distance BAR

Your best time at 10, 25 and 50 miles added together and expressed in MPH

Long Distance BAR

Your best 50 and 100 added to your 12 hour distance expressed in MPH

Hill Climb

The fastest person up the designated hill, currently Primrose Hill out of Moulton towards Gazeley

Handicap 10

The winner on Handicap times in the designated Club event, currently at Wicken.

Points Trophy

This is a season long competition with a trophy for Male & Female. You score 1 point for every Club event you ride in. You can also gain a ‘bonus point’ in the following way:- When you ride a particular course for the 2nd, 3rd etc time in that season, if it is your fastest time in that season you score a bonus point.

Example, at Wicken if we ride there 4 times and your times are 27.00, 26.30, 26.18 and 26.24 you would score 1 plus (1+1) plus (1+1) plus 1 totalling 6 points

Improver Tophy

This trophy is awarded to the person who improves year on year, not during the current season. The results are calculated in this way: -
+ Take your fastest time at each of the following courses during the last season, Wicken, Ashley A & B and Red Lodge
+ Add the 4 times together
+ Then do the same again with the results for the current season

The winner is the person who has improved the most.

Note 1: If for arguments sake you did not ride Ashley A during the last season then your time from the previous season would be used.
Note 2: By virtue of the way it is calculated you will not be eligible in your first season of Time Trials.

2. Road Racing

One trophy awarded to the person with the highest placings in any Road Race held under British Cycling rules

3. Cyclo Cross

One trophy awarded to the person who has the highest placing in the Regional Championship race

4. Mountain Biking

One trophy awarded to the rider with the highest placings in their respective age category.

5. Track

Points are awarded 1 point for a win, 2 for second, 3 for third etc etc in each race at the designated Track Championship Meet. The points are added up and the person with the lowest score wins.

6. Young Achiever

Any member of the Club who is at Secondary school who has excelled in any category or discipline.

7. Triathlon

This trophy groups together Triathlon and Duathlon. Your best 4 scoring events to count, these can be a mixture of Triathlon and Duathlon races. You would still be eligible if you had only competed in 2 or 3 races. ‘Off Road’ events do not count.

How are your results calculated?
+ Take the winners time and divide it by your time
+ Multiply by 100
+ Multiply this by your Age Cat indices.

Do this for all your races during the current year, add your highest 4 scores together.

Example:-
Your age is taken as your age on 31st Dec in the current year as per British Triathlon. Assume you are aged 39 on race day but you will be 40 by New Years Eve. Therefore you are classed as Cat H ( 40-44) all season.

Winner's Time 60m 00 secs
Your Time 80m 00 secs
0. 75

Multiply by 100 = 75
Multiply by Age Cat Indices Cat H = 1.086 = 81.45

Therefore your score for that race is 81.45

Age Cat Indices
17-18 B 1.111
19-20 C 1.105
21-24 D 1.088
25-29 E 1.074
30-34 F 1.053
35-39 G 1.049
40-44 H 1.086
45-49 I 1.142
50-54 J 1.198
55-59 K 1.250
60-64 L 1.315
70-74 N 1.400
75-80 P 1.425

Female results are based on the winning Female Time

The Taylor Cup is awarded to the Overall Highest Scoring person in addition to the above.
